Overview:

Pharmacy is a health profession that links the health sciences with chemical sciences and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals drugs. Pharmacy Technicians support the work of pharmacists and other health professionals by performing a variety of pharmacy related functions including dispensing prescription drugs and other medical devices to patients and instructing on their use.

Pharmacy Technicians work in a variety of locations, usually in community/ retail and hospital pharmacies but also sometimes in long term care facilities as well as with pharmaceutical manufacturers , distributors or in government or teaching hospital facilities.

In both developed and developing, the relative importance of Pharmacy Technicians within the pharmacy workforce has been amplified in recent years, largely as a reaction to Pharmacist shortages, resulting in an increase in their numbers and responsibilities.

Medical Store License:

Pharmacy Technician (Category-B) diploma holder is eligible to apply for license to open own medical store.

FIHS is registered with Pharmacy Council of Pakistan and Punjab Pharmacy Council to offer Pharmacy Technician (Category-B) professional diploma.

Duration:
2 years, annual system, NTS based examination

Matric (Science/Computer Science)
No minimum marks and age limit requirements
